Manitoba Access Awareness Week and a Bicycle Built for 4

‘MAAW’ fun could not be had at the Forks as I joined Vision Impaired Resource Network (VIRN) and People First Canada for the Manitoba Access Awareness Week kick off at noon Monday at the Forks.

“People are often excluded from new experiences due to lack of accessibility.” says Doris Koop, Executive Director of VIRN, “That’s why we’ve organized these tandem bike rides with Bee-2-Gether Bikes; to give people an opportunity to try something new and have fun doing it!”

The cycling event is part of a week-long push for greater public awareness on accessibility issues in Manitoba. Events will be held all week.
