Want Free Winnipeg JazzFest Tickets?

The amazing Winnipeg Jazz Festival is bringing  over 100 performers to venues all across Winnipeg to get jazzy and here at IBEX Winnipeg Jazz Festwe want you guys to get jazzy too! We’ve got our hands on a number of tickets for both the acclaimed Vancouver rapper Shad on Friday June 20th at 7:30 PM, and the crazy talented jazz singer Gregory Porter on Wednesday June 18th also at 7:30 PM, and with a simple email comment or Facebook post anyone could win these tickets for their organization!

Want to win big? Think of a story you’ve got about IBEX or the Inclusion system. It can be funny. Inspiring. Infuriating. Perplexing. It can be an essay or it can be one sentence long. It can be something ridiculous Darryl said, it can be something great JT did, it can even be a vivid and detailed description of the experience of eating an IBEX cookie.

Have you got your story? Good. Now email it to us. Or add it into a comment on this blog post. Or tweet us. Or write it on our Facebook wall. Or put it on a carrier pigeon and get it here by sundown. Get it here in any way you can possibly think of, and your organization will automatically be entered in a draw to win tickets. Have you got more than one story? Then enter twice, double your chances of winning! Every story is one entry so go crazy. We’ve got accessible seats available so be sure to include any seating preferences you might have with your entry along with the name of your organization. Feel free to email us at spencer.yarnell@ibexherd.com.

Again each comment, tweet, message or post should have:

  • a story
  • if you prefer an accessible seat
  • Which concert you prefer
  • the name of your organization

The entry deadline is May 29th. After that we’ll draw from all the entries to see who wins the tickets. There are five pairs of tickets and three are accessible seating! Unfortunately the contest is restricted to those who live close enough to make it to Winnipeg!

Psst.. More stories means a better chance of  tickets so get telling!

  1. Hello ,
What really sticks out is after attending the last IBEX training with a co-worker was watching the slide show with out of office activities and the short vignettes .We have a lot of team building at Turning Leaf Support Services ,but as we have been growing ( I ain’t complaining ) it is getting harder to think of ways we can connect with all our staff to make them feel valued .And they are ! I have taken in a lot of valuable information and ideas when I attend the trainings. The emails are great go to resource ,but cake day is coming to TLCSS….or something like it . We are fortunate enough to be getting at staff room with real tables ,chairs and fridge …oh my !And after seeing everyone at the training perk up about a certain cookie that was served at lunch ,I have been sold on this idea. Doughnuts and muffins are one small thing we can give back and seem to get our staff engaged . Viva la chocolate sprinkle! So please let this be a winner or at least a contender .I accidentally dumped a coffee on the woman Marina I attended with and I am trying to make it up to her and her staff .She is small , but surprisingly fast. Fists like little hurricanes of stone .

Thank you and see you at the next training .

    • It’s all about Networking. I met a new Manager today at Epic Opportunities where I work. She asked whether I recognized her from the Ibex training session that we both attended and said that I was the reason she’s at Epic. I had talked to her about applying at Epic and she decided to give it her a try. If I win, I’d like the tickets for Gregory Porter on Wed. June 18th. If I win 4 tickets, I’ll invite my new co-worker to attend with me along with two of the individuals we support

  2. Ibex… what can I say about you guys… I used to work at an agency where payroll was a real mess and it took all day every two weeks for management to get payroll done with good old fashioned paper, pens and calculators… and accruals, well those were beyond screwed up. We got started with ibex payroll and with all of Terry’s and JT’s help getting started life was easier. Fast forward a couple years – I move on to manage a home with United Church Halfway Homes and it was like going back in time, complete with paper, pens and calculators. I recommended Ibex since the “system” we used was not exactly efficient. We started with Ibex Inclusion shortly after and I am forever grateful! Ann is always so helpful and there when we need her assistance and payroll is now way more manageable, I love efficiency to make life easier and you guys have provided this to me twice over. Thanks for all your work! If United Church Halfway Homes (specifically Dorchester House) is drawn we would love to see either show but our first choice would be Shad and we do not require accessible seating. Thanks for doing this!

Inclusion System extends our profound respect and immeasurable gratitude to all the ancestors and keepers of the land on whose traditional territories our work takes place. We acknowledge that we are on Treaty 1 territory, the traditional gathering place of the Anishinaabe, Cree, Oji-Cree, Dakota and Dene people and the traditional homeland of the Métis people. This land is sacred, historical, and significant.

Every time we acknowledge this truth, we have an invitation and an opportunity to reflect on the wrongs of the past, what we do in the present, and what we can do to continually honour the people whose lands and water we benefit from today.

This statement only acts as a first step in honouring the land we reside on and its peoples, and must be paired with education, understanding and informed action.
