How Not to be a Jerk and End the Awkard

Part of what’s wrong with having a society full of barriers, is that a lot of traditionally ‘abled’ people fail at social etiquette related to disability.

Most people know the concept, ‘treat a person like a person.’  But knowing person centered theory is different than actually putting it into practice.  And between you and me… society at large could use a lot of practice.  We’ve all supported a person in a public space and cringed when someone puts their foot in their mouth, right?  It’s really, really awkward.

Enter the awesome and entertaining End the Awkward campaign.  These ad’s made me laugh while giving some great common sense advice.

The End the Awkward campaign is put on by the British organization Scope.  The page has awesome interviews with people on ending the awkward in all kinds of spaces.  There’s even a quiz to measure your own awkwardness level.

What do you guys think?  You guys have any awkward moments to share?
