Inclusion System Update: New to Time Off Requests

A couple of months ago this cool feature was introduced and now we have even more refinements to enhance the experience for both employees and managers!

Employees can more clearly express their time off wants and needs with the ability to request full or partial days off, and when they change their minds they can easily remove pending requests.

On the employee portal, only the pay codes that are applicable to each individual employee will be visible.

Managers can spend less time contemplating schedules and spend more time connecting with employees with these great new features:

  • Approved time off is now automatically inserted into the schedule and will be indicated by pink shading with grey stripes.
  • There are now options to create a vacant shift or not, all without effecting the approved request.
  • There is now an option to set the standard start time and length of a workday at the organization or employee level.
  • The duration of time off requests are now easily viewed through the Time Off Review grid.

What’s more:

  • Daily Approval
    • To differentiate types of entries in daily approval, we’ve coloured all the borders that indicate the source of time: blue for Time Entry, green for clock punch and purple for web punch.
  • Shift Bidding
    • While looking in shift bidding, employees will not see shifts that conflict with their approved time off.
    • Shift Bidding will now show pay code icons.
  • Shiftshark
    • Shiftshark won’t contact employees when they have scheduled time off.

Inclusion System extends our profound respect and immeasurable gratitude to all the ancestors and keepers of the land on whose traditional territories our work takes place. We acknowledge that we are on Treaty 1 territory, the traditional gathering place of the Anishinaabe, Cree, Oji-Cree, Dakota and Dene people and the traditional homeland of the Métis people. This land is sacred, historical, and significant.

Every time we acknowledge this truth, we have an invitation and an opportunity to reflect on the wrongs of the past, what we do in the present, and what we can do to continually honour the people whose lands and water we benefit from today.

This statement only acts as a first step in honouring the land we reside on and its peoples, and must be paired with education, understanding and informed action.
